SXSW EDU 2026

Dr. Asia Lyons has been selected as a Mentor for SXSW EDU 2026, where she will support educators, leaders, and innovators seeking guidance on storytelling, wellness, and justice-centered research. As a longtime advocate for Black educator wellbeing and archival justice, Dr. Lyons brings a unique blend of scholarship, lived experience, and community-rooted practice to her mentoring sessions.

During SXSW EDU, participants can connect with Asia for one-on-one conversations about:

  • Healing-centered approaches to educator sustainability

  • Racial battle fatigue and wellness leadership

  • Storytelling and narrative justice

  • Designing programs that support Black educators

  • Research rooted in lived experience and community wisdom
